Freedom of Dublin City


Fr Peter Mc Verry  SJ and Brian O Driscoll two great ambassadors for Dublin were presented the Honorary Freedom of the City . Fr Peter Mc Verry has Campaigned for forty years for Dublin’s young homeless people and Brian O’Driscoll is one of Ireland’s greatest ever Rugby players.

It was a great pleasure to be with The Lord Mayor in Honoring theses two inspirational Men at the Mansion House on the 22nd March 2014.

Funding for Royal Canal Cycle Route Design

Cllr Áine Clancy welcomed €375,000 in funding for the design of the next three phases of the Royal Canal Cycle Route.

This funding announced by the National Transport Authority (NTA) recently will complete the design of the cycle route – which is planned as a leisure, tourist and commuter cycle track from the edge of the Docklands, through Drumcondra & Glasnevin, to link up with the new Greenway Route beyond Ashtown.

Cllr Áine Clancy, who previously chaired Dublin City Council’s Transport Committee, will continue to provide updates to local residents about the designs in the coming weeks and months.

Boundary Changes for Glasnevin Drumcondra

As you may be aware, the boundaries for Glasnevin – Drumcondra were changed last year for local and national elections.

Your area is now part of an extended ‘Ballymun’ Ward, with boundaries north of Ballymun down to Whitworth Road at the Royal Canal.

The area highlighted on the map is now part of this larger ‘Ballymun’ ward.

Local Business Focus: Collar & Cuff, Harts Corner, Glasnevin

Local Cllr Áine Clancy visited local business owner Declan Mahon to congratulate him on setting up his new formalwear business at Prospect Avenue, Harts Corner, Glasnevin.

Declan Mahon has over 10 years’ experience in Ireland and overseas and returned to from Australia to set up the business recently. It’s never easier to take the plunge and set up a new business so congratulations to Declan and I wish him all the best in the future!
